Fayetteville City Schools has been awarded a $4,000 Utrust mini-grant.  The grant is made in honor of Pam Bryson, a Fayetteville City school board member, who became a trustee on the Utrust Board last July. 

The Trustee Choice grant provided that Bryson could choose to use the grant for whatever she wished to benefit the school system. She chose to provide the grant to the programs in each of Fayetteville’s three schools.

Ralph Askins Elementary School was provided $1,300 with $550 going to purchase items for the Little Tigers Stem Lab, $250 to purchase items for the school’s Donation Pantry and $500 for whatever project the principal chose from the school’s wish list.

Fayetteville Middle School received $1,300, including $550 to purchase Audio Enhancement Qballs, $250 to purchase items for the school’s Donation Pantry and $500 for the Beta Club.

Fayetteville High School received $1,400, including $550 to purchase Audio Enhancement Qballs, $250 to purchase items for the school’s Donation Pantry and $600 for the Tennis Team.

 “We’re grateful to Utrust and especially to Pam Bryson for providing these funds to strengthen our programs and increase opportunities for our students,” said Bill W. Hopkins, Jr., director of schools. “We’re pleased to participate in the Utrust Appreciation Program, and we’re proud to have Pam serving as a trustee governing that organization.”

Bryson said, “I’m honored to be one of seven school board members in Tennessee to serve on the Utrust Board of Trustees.  Utrust is dedicated to helping to make schools better places to work and learn. I deeply appreciate having the opportunity to help our schools with this grant.”

“Pam Bryson has quickly proven to be a tremendous addition to the Utrust Board,” said Utrust Administrator, Dr. Dan Tollett. “She is one of two trustees who represent Middle Tennessee on the Utrust Board.  She has helped to implement and oversee a number of excellent programs which have made a great difference in schools across Tennessee. We are delighted to be able to fund this mini grant as a token of our appreciation to her.”

Utrust is an organization that assists school systems in Tennessee with unemployment issues and in recognizing, supporting and appreciating school employees. It sponsors the Utrust Appreciation Program, a student leadership program that seeks to help students recognize and express appreciation to people who make their lives better each day.
