Pam Bryson, school board member, elected to Utrust Board
Pam Bryson of Fayetteville has been selected to serve a five-year term on the Utrust Board of Trustees.
Established in 1980, Utrust is a statewide organization that has saved school districts and their local taxpayers across Tennessee millions of dollars in unemployment compensation costs. In addition, during the last four years, Utrust has made grants totaling $4 Million to schools to provide equipment, supplies and other unbudgeted needs of teachers, principals and other school employees.
Utrust also sponsors the Utrust Appreciation Program that promotes the development of student leadership in recognizing and expressing appreciation to school employees for their contributions to the school and the students they serve. It seeks to instill in students an attitude of gratitude and simultaneously improve employee morale.
Bryson, a member of the Fayetteville City Board of Education, was selected by the Utrust Board of Trustees to complete the unexpired term of Regina Waller, a Trousdale County School Board member, who did not seek re-election to her local school board. She will be one of seven trustees governing the statewide program and one of two school board members representing Middle Tennessee.
Dr. Dan Tollett, Utrust Administrator, said, “We are pleased to have Pam Bryson as a member of the Utrust Board of Trustees. She has a heart for children and will be a strong and thoughtful member of the Utrust Board.” Tollett continued, “She comes to us with the highest recommendations. Her experience in business and as a parent, community leader and school board member will be helpful to our board.”
Fayetteville City Schools Superintendent Bill Hopkins said, “We’re pleased that all Fayetteville City Schools participate in the Utrust programs. It’s an honor for Fayetteville to have one of our school board members serving on the Utrust Board of Trustees. There is no question in my mind that Pam will be an excellent addition to their board.”
David Jones, a member of the Hancock County School Board and Utrust Board Chairman, said, “We are pleased to have Pam Bryson join our board of Trustees. We know that she has the ability and attitude to help our board continue to function at the highest possible level.
