• After grading the assessment from Friday, I decided to let students take the essay portion of the test again. On Monday we looked over a model paragraph together and looked at the different parts of a successful paragraph. On Tuesday, we used an organizer to pull important evidence and used our organizers to write a paragraph together as a class. These two examples were great practice and I allowed students to use these examples while they redid their tests. Their final Unit 1 assessment grade will be their grade AFTER the assistance was given.

Mrs. Taylor Marable

Welcome! I am so excited to be teaching 6th grade ELA! I taught fifth grade for one year, and this is my second year of teaching. I attended the University of Tennessee and recieved my Masters Degree in Elementary Education, Go Vols! When I am not in the classroom I love spending time with my husband, Drew, and my parents in Knoxville. I love having fun in the classroom and encouraging learning to be an enjoyable experience. I love escaping to a good book and have loved reading since I was a child. I am thrilled to be sharing that love of reading with my students this year!
