Health Science

Students at FHS have a great opportunity to participate in Health Science CTE!

We currently offer health science an introductory course, medical therapeutics second year, and dual enrollment opportunities for our students interested in the field of healthcare.

Course Description: Health Science is a course in which students will identify the different types of facilities and options for health care delivery in the United States. Students create a variety of reports and presentations highlighting a variety of healthcare modalities. An in depth evaluation of the following health care fields as well as  college and career preparation: biotechnology research, therapeutic services, support services, health informatics, and diagnostic services.

We explore the roles and responsibilities of the healthcare professional along with detailed research on the educational and technological training requirements. In addition, students analyze descriptive results of abnormal physiology and evaluate clinical consequences. A workable knowledge of medical terminology will be demonstrated by each individual.
