• Hello RAS. My name is Michael Bobbitt, and I am your new assistant principal. This is the beginning of my 27th year in education and my 2nd in the Fayetteville City School System. I graduated from Hokes Bluff High and received my BS from Jacksonville State University and my Masters from Samford University.

Throughout my career, I have been a Special Education teacher, as well as a P.E teacher. I have taught in all three grade settings: high school, middle and elementary. I’ve been an assistant football, wrestling and baseball coach, as well as a head football, soccer and track & field coach. My last five years in Alabama, I was the assistant principal and athletic director at Austin High and Decatur High, which are both in the Decatur City School System. Prior to becoming the assistant principal at RAS, I was the CDC teacher at Fayetteville Middle while I also coached varsity football.

I have three children; Luke and his wife, Meaghan, and my granddaughter, Lainey (4), and grandson, Lincoln James (2); and Chase and Avery, who both attend JSU and will graduate this school year.

I love Fayetteville and look forward to serving you here at Ralph Askins School.

    GO Tigers!
