A Peek At The Week

This week we have focused on the letter Ss.  Our key picture is Sammy Seal.  Our new Ss words are saw, seal, shoe, sock, soup, sand, street, square, smell, school, scissors, see, sad, spots, sidewalk, star, stripes, stream, Joshua, Lindsay, Amos, Edsel, and Josiah.  We read llama llama red pajama, The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear, Little Red Riding Hood, Seal’s Silly Sandwich, Blueberries for Sal, How Do Dinosaurs Learn Their Colors, Colors, Go Away Big Green Monster, and The Hungry Thing.  We hope the Royal Placemats are helping with those manners at the dinner table.  Enjoy using the props for Little Miss Muffet!  Everyone has done a terrific job wearing the colors this week - do the same next week!  Next week, we will focus on the letter Ee and continue our Circus theme.

*Johnny and I hope you enjoy the Titan magnet.  Go Titan’s!!

*There is a checklist in your child’s folder.  Only a few people lack some papers to have your child’s folder complete.  Please bring in those items ASAP.

*Please read the Early Years paper it gives great ideas for home activities.

*Our class is going to participate in “Your Class Can make a Difference by Reading.”  Each child has a bookmark in their folder to track their reading.  Any adult can read them a book and write the book title.  All you have to read are 10 books, how easy is that.  When you fill your bookmark up return it to school.

*Grandparent’s will be invited to come on Monday, September 13.  More information will be provided.

*If you have a computer at home and allow your children to get on the internet, check out this web page www.starfall.com.  This is what I allow them to play in the room and they love it!

Thanks so much for your help and support!
