Current Event Information

 

 

1.  Students in Geography are responsible for three current events in a

          nine-week grading period.  Only one at a time may be turned-in.

2.    The current event must be attached to notebook paper, preferably

with scotch tape.

3.     It should have the student’s name and date at the top.

4.     The name of the source of information (newspaper, magazine, or

web site) must be noted and the date of that information listed.

5.     Students then must answer the following questions.

 

1.     What does this article have to do with World Geography?

2.     If it is about another country, where in the world is this

place located?

3.     A brief 3 to 4 sentence summary of the article will follow.

 

·        The article topics can range from space, environmental issues, natural disasters, political events of world importance, and events in other countries around the world.

·        Students should have their articles ready when they enter the classroom.

·        Wednesdays are turn-in days for the news. If you know you are going to be absent on Wednesday, you may turn in your article the day before. If you are absent on Wednesday and have an article, turn it in the day you return.

·        Only one may be turned-in each week and none will be accepted the last week of the nine weeks.
