2008-2009 Syllabus

 

I.                   Classroom Rules

 

A.  Respect and be polite to all people.

B.  Be in your seat and ready to begin when the bell rings.

C.  Speak at appropriate times, using appropriate voice and language.

D.  Bring all materials to class each day.

E.  Follow all school rules.

F.  Leave all food, drink or gum at home.

 

II.                Classroom Policies

 

A.        Homework will be checked daily.  Incomplete homework will be penalized and late homework will not be accepted. 

B.        All assignments are to be completed using pencil.  Work completed in pen will be penalized.

C.        Missed assignments (including tests and quizzes) due to an absence are to be made up within 5 days after returning to school (make-up tests and quizzes will need to be taken either before or after school).  It is the student’s responsibility to check with me in order to make up any missed assignment or test.

D.       Math notebooks are required for each student.  The organized notebook will contain the class syllabus, grade sheet, notes with objectives and examples, homework and class work. 

 

III.            Grading Policy

 

50 % - Average of daily homework, class work and notebook checks

50 % - Average of Quizzes, Mid-Chapter and Chapter Tests

** Extra Credit (total of 2 Test Grades) is given for returning each of the progress reports that are distributed 2 times each 9 weeks (check Student Handbook for dates).  Additional extra credit is given to students who come regularly ~ 1 time per week to my classroom after school until 3:30 to work on their Math Homework.
