As you are aware, earlier today there was a bomb threat at the Fayetteville Junior High School. We immediately evacuated Fayetteville Intermediate School and Fayetteville Junior High School to the National Guard Armory across the street. I would like to thank the school administrators, teachers, students and staff for the quick, calm, and efficient evacuation of these schools. I would also like to thank the quick response from the Fayetteville Police Department. The threat specified that the bomb would go off at 3:00 PM today.
The buildings have been searched and no bomb was found. I would like to assure parents that we take all threats seriously. The Fayetteville Police Department will be investigating the source of this call. School will be open tomorrow unless weather does not permit.
Thank you.
Billy Joe Evans
Director, Fayetteville City Schools
