             One Student at a Time

Welcome to the Fayetteville City School System Website.  The purpose of this site is to offer current information about our system.  I hope that you will find it to be a useful tool and use it often.

Fayetteville City Schools has a long standing reputation for excellence in education.  We are continuing that tradition by constantly searching for the best curriculum-related materials and up-to-date technology available for use in the classroom.  We seek to provide practical staff-development for our teachers and work hard to keep our facilities safe and in excellent condition; but, our employees are our greatest asset.  I am proud of our faculty and feel that each is a top-notch professional dedicated to providing the best education possible for our students.  Our support employees are just as dedicated, and each one makes a unique contribution to the success of our system.  I commend each employee for the fine job that they are doing.

The Tennessee Educational Association Research Division (2004) used the Tennessee Comprehensive Achievement Program National Percentiles on a three-year average to rank Tennessee School Systems.  Fayetteville City Schools ranked as follows among 137 school systems in Tennessee:

Grades 3 - 5    Reading #6                             Grades 6 - 8    Reading #7

                        Mathematics # 5                                            Mathematics #4

Language Arts #2                                          Language Arts #2

Social Studies #7                                            Social Studies #6

                        Science #7                                                       Science #5

            Gateway Algebra:     Advanced #9

                                                Advanced and Proficient #8

We are proud of this accomplishment and consistently strive to improve.

It has been a busy summer for our system.  Our maintenance and custodial staffs have been busy getting our buildings and grounds ready for the new school year.  We have added a new teacher to the Title I Reading Program.  We have expanded our school nursing staff and now have a full-time RN on each campus.

We are very appreciative of the support that we receive from parents and the community.  Working together we will continue to excel in academics and offer our students a quality education complimented by a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.
